Who We Are
Caritas Malaysia is inspired by the Gospels and the teachings of the Catholic Church. We respond to humanitarian crises, promote integral human development and advocate on the causes of poverty and violence.
The national office works together with the offices for human development in the nine dioceses in Malaysia.
Caritas Malaysia is in the process of strengthening and building relationships and collaboration with various organisations to provide practical help and support during disasters and emergencies, and to meet ongoing needs in the community.
During the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Malaysia-Singapore-Brunei (CBCMSB) on 08 July 2019, the Bishops met with the Caritas staff from the Vatican and Asia for a dialogue. The Malaysian bishops then decided to re-new the lapsed membership with the Caritas federation.
A consolidated Caritas Malaysia consisting of the various activities and reports of dioceses is to be presented to the Bishop’s conference annually.

We are called to recognise the face of Jesus in the faces of our brothers and sisters, in particular the poor and the marginalised. Caritas work has been rooted in and inspired by Church tradition and history, since its foundation.
